Updates and Pictures
Typepad has recently mysteriously lost not one, but two of my most recent posts. It aggravated me so much that I have lost all desire to recreate them in the process. So, here are some recent happenings in our household since I am obviously lacking creativity.
We took Ainsley and some friends of ours to the local orchard. You might remember we visited there last year. This year, we were able to get some yummy apples and Ainsley and I made homemade apple sauce and apple crumb cake.
While Las Vegas obviously has its positives, we are still in the middle of the mortgage nightmare I spoke about here. Some recent articles suggest that 47% of mortgages in Las Vegas and Henderson alone are completely upside down, making it the highest state with "underwater mortgages" in the country. We decided that since our lovely mortgage broker won't work with us and the effects from the bailout may not reach us or our company until December 1st, that we are holding firm until that time. I placed October's mortgage payment (pre-ARM payment, of course) into our savings account. I have already begun getting the automated calls from them, but not one actual representative has contacted us. At the time they do, which I expect with be in upcoming weeks, I am prepared to have a very short, but sweet conversation that will begin something like, "Oh, NOW you want to talk to me!!" It completely sucks that this is how I have to get their attention, but we are out of options.
In the meantime, we are saving every dime and another teacher friend of mine has recently moved in with us and is renting out our spare bedroom. That money is also going into savings. Only time will tell where we end up with this. If we end up having to short sale this house and rent for a few years, I am fine with that decision. I love my home, but it isn't ideal, especially not with our other inhabitants who aren't paying rent. I won't miss them one bit.
Last night we made our way around the block with Ainsley the ladybug. For some reason, my child, who can identify any shape you give her, including octagon, cannot say, "Trick-or-Treat!" Instead, she says, "Chuck-E-Cheese!" (?!?!?) It made for an interesting and certainly entertaining Halloween evening.
Finally broke down and made an appointment with a reputable RE in our area. Might as well get this show on the road and head towards an updated SA from Mike and possibly an HSG for me. Appointment is November 13th.
I'm so sorry about your house situation. I hope things work out for the best in that arena in the next few months.
Your little ladybug is precious! And Chuck E Cheese? Too cute!

I'm dying at the Chuck-E-Cheese! My Nick is obsessed with octagons. To the point he has been known to cry when we drive away from a stop sign because we aren't bringing it with us.

Wow...I'm in real estate and our market is horrible in GA too (not as bad as you guys but bad enough!). The Chuck E. Cheese comment made me laugh..too funny. I'm glad you made the appointment for the RE. Also, I'm happy they can see you so quickly!!!
