Appointment with the dashing, handsome RE who plans to get me knocked up again

I decided to take a personal day so I didn't have to rush through my 12,873 questions I had for the RE. I was glad I did because he ended up talking to me for nearly an hour. (I am long-winded.) The thing is, all of this is pretty new to me. While I did visit a different RE a few months before I got pregnant with Ainsley, the list and costs of the testing alone made me shake in my shoes. As for now, our coverages are different, but certainly not anything to write home about. We each have $3,000 a year for infertility benefits, but doesn't include medications for any cycles. Better than nothing, I suppose.

Here is the game plan: Dr. D, as I will call him, is leaning towards this being a morphology issue. Because Mike's last test was abnormal for morphology, he wants to repeat it, but in their office where they can just zoom the little soldiers next door to the lab and get an immediate idea what we are looking at. He also thinks because my miscarriages have all been really early, chances are, they were not because the MTHFR threw some type of clot through the placenta, but rather because of a poor quality embryo. So, Mike is scheduled for his retest this weekend.

As for me, he wants to go the Day 3 tests first before we jump into looking at the HSG. I think the FSH test possibly scares me the most because I am so worried my eggs are going to be the problem and it is pretty obvious we cannot afford to do IVF without some type of discounted cycle. After labs and then both of those results, he said he would do a sonohysterogram first over the HSG to look for any uterine lesions or abnormalities. I am currently on CD 12, so all of this will wait until next month.

Best case scenario? We get pregnant this month and I get to cancel all the appointments and have that second child that I envision will complete my family. If morphology ends up being an issue, best case scenario there is that we are able to have his sperm washed and then do an IUI in the office the next cycle that would somehow miraculously be covered by the money we have for infertility (and then, of course, that perfect little party of sperm would get me pregnant.) Worst case scenario: He tells me my eggs are crap and Mike's sperm look like he grew up near a nuclear power plant and we need IVF.

So, for the sake of being optimistic, I am doing just that. The holidays are coming, a few new programs suddenly appeared with our mortgage company that may get us out of the mess we are in, and Ainsley is growing like a weed. The transition to her bed-girl bed has been a piece of cake. Thank God something around here has been easy!

Good luck with the RE. Let me know if you have any questions. I've had almost every test done, except on DH's sperm as they seem to be really good.

BTW, I'm curious about what the mortgage company has available. If you wouldn't mind sharing with me on email, I'd appreciate it. We're not in trouble with our mortgage payments, but it does burn my a$$ that our mortgage is now a lot more than our house is worth.

Good luck with all of this! Glad to hear there may be some relief on the mortgage front, and that your girl is doing well. Fingers crossed that the first visit alone was enough to ensure you get pregnant this month!

Good luck and that is awesome news that the lender is trying to help people fix things!! Good news all around!
