Book Giveaway!!!!
First, let me start by saying that this lovely lady is the queen of book giveaways and I have always been so envious of how she gets all those publicists to send her copies of books to review and give away to faithful readers. I am pleased to say it is my turn now and I will be reading and reviewing The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife's Memoir, by Patsy Harman. I also have been given one copy of the book to give away to an interested reader, so . . . . tell me you want the book and I will randomly pick a numbered post! Go on, go for it, ladies!
Here is the lowdown: The Blue Cotton Gown is about the dramatic struggles of the Appalachian women who seek care at the women's health center Patsy runs with her gynecologist husband, Dr. Tom Harman. It is in Patsy’s small exam room, where women sit nearly naked, covered only by a blue cotton gown, that they open their hearts. Nila, a mother of seven, is pregnant, but not by her husband, who has become abusive. Trish, a medical assistant, is increasingly losing her daughter to the world of drugs. Heather, a teenager pregnant with twins, loses first one, then the second baby. Harman's unique vantage point offers an eye-opening look at the daunting realities of women's lives in her area of West Virginia, where poverty, domestic abuse, drugs, teenage pregnancy, and a failing health care system, collide in painful, sometimes devastating ways.
Good luck!!

By the way, I see you're listening to The Smiths. Love, love, love, The Smiths. I got to see Morrissey in concert when I was a teenager.
