First, let me start by saying that this lovely lady is the queen of book giveaways and I have always been so envious of how she gets all those publicists to send her copies of books to review and give away to faithful readers. I am pleased to say it is my turn now and I will be reading and reviewing The Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife's Memoir, by Patsy Harman. Heather, a teenager pregnant with twins, loses first one, then the second baby. Harman's unique vantage point offers an eye-opening look at the daunting realities of women's lives in her area of West Virginia, where poverty, domestic abuse, drugs, teenage pregnancy, and a failing health care system, collide in painful, sometimes devastating ways.
